Is it true that DVD Barcodes require a special ending digit?

NOT TRUE! This rumor started some years ago, and we still receive the occasional question about it. It is purely a rumor. DVD barcodes are standard UPC barcodes using a standard UPC number which has a mathematically calculated ending digit, called a check digit. This digit can come out of be anything. It's not even possible to be controlled as this rumor suggests. Should I use an ISBN barcode in my DVD?

No, you should not. ISBN is the International Standard Book number and is used to catalog books. It has nothing to do with DVDs. Your DVD should feature a standard UPC code - NOT an ISBN (Book Barcode).
